Lucy Ann Lance Show Appearance

This past Monday March 22, 2010, Anne & Bill Brandon appeared with Lucy Ann Lance on her Business Insider Show on 1290AM. Lucy Ann was featuring small businesses in the Ann Arbor & Saline area. During the weekly Saline Chamber of Commerce report by Larry Osterling, Lucy Ann wanted to hear more about the buzz around the newly opened The Bling Thing.

The Bling Thing was of interest because it has uniquely gone from an Internet business to expanding to a bricks-and-mortar Retail Store in downtown Saline. There has been a lot of curiosity regarding this pattern that the Brandon's are experimenting with. Lucy Ann was curious about the reasons for this evolving idea of the Brandon's business.

One reason was to expand the revenue sources of this business. This small niche retail location in downtown Saline was affordable and allows another revenue stream for the fun & fabulous gift items and accessories that were already in stock for internet sales.

The second reason was to reconnect with the public on their wants and needs. To often with Internet businesses, the interpersonal relationships with customers is lost. The Brandon's are very social people and this aspect of their internet business was troubling. Face to Face customer relationships is a lost art, and the Brandon's were not ready to let go! Verbal and Non-verbal communication is important to meeting customer service needs.

As a business owner nothing is more satisfying than a smile on a customer's face, except maybe cash in the register. Anne Brandon presented Lucy Ann Lance with a gift basket of fun items from the store which definitely got a laugh & smile. But kidding aside, The Bling Thing is putting a laugh & smile on most customer's faces while expanding the growing small businesses in Downtown Saline.
